JANUARY - LEGISLATIVE FORUM -
The Chamber's Legislative Breakfast Forum was held on Friday, January 22nd at Grassy Hill Country Club. The purpose of the meeting was to place a series of business related questions pertaining to current or proposed legislative actions by the State legislature to a panel composed of the three state legislators representing our area. Pictured above, Representatives Themis Klarides and Paul Davis; and Senator Gayle Slossberg participated in the Forum. Rocky Salperto, owner-publisher of the Orange Town News served as Moderator for the event. Board member Vincent Marino stressed that the event is a forum and not a debate. He referred meeting attendees to the draft questions prepared by the Legislative Action Committee that were sent to the panelists in advance of the event. Following the formal presentation, questions from the floor completed the meeting.
FEBRUARY - BUSINESS AFTER HOURS -
Hosted by Medi-Weightloss Clinic at 339 Boston Post Road, Ben Cerrilli did an outstanding job making sure we had beverages and hors d'oeuvres galore, thus making our evening just as perfect as possible. As usual, member networking was at its best and we had the opportunity to welcome several new members - and even some prospective members. Our many BAH's serve as a reminder that the more involved you are, the more contacts you will make. Point made! Hope to see more of you at our coming BAH events Thursday, March 18th - BUSINESS AFTER HOURS Hosted by Timothy's Gourmet and Racebrook Wine & Liquor World From 5:00–7:00 p.m. at 302-304 Race Brook Road, on what gave every indication of being a perfect spring evening double header - a large turnout enjoyed the food and beverages generously

TUESDAY, MAY 25TH - BUSINESS AFTER HOURS - Bear & Grill Restaurant
Tuesday, May 25th Bear & Grill Restaurant, 385 Boston Post Road. Orange Nick Jhilal invited Chamber members to come and enjoy this networking and social event. With a friendly restaurant setting, it also offered the perfect time to bring a friend or new member prospect to see the Chamber in action - and over 40 of you did just that! Proving that Chamber members know how to elevate a BAH to new heights, Nick Jhilal outdid himself with food, beverages and hospitality - the barbecued ribs and pasta kept disappearing as fast as they were brought out and beverages flowed freely! Great evening and some of us were still around at 8:00 o'clock, despite the scheduled hours of 5 to 7 p.m.
Thursday, June 3rd BUSINESS AFTER HOURS - MARK BARRY'S RESTAURANT _______________________________________________________________________________
It was a hot and humid
Thursday, so at 5:00 many of us headed to Mark
Barry's Restaurant at 464
Boston Post Road to
see what all the buzz is about at Orange's newest meeting
spot. Hosts Mark Barry and Lisa Holland invited us to
come to "Connecticut's first and only golf bar" and sample
some of their specialty foods and drink. We met on the
restaurant side of establishment, picked out the tables we
wanted, ordered beverages, loaded our plates and did all the
things you've come to expect at a BAH.
Tony
Scacca and crew again hosted this Chamber social event- the
third time the Outback Steakhouse has welcomed us in! Any
of you who have attended one of the past BAHs at Outback
knows there will be a variety
of refreshments - including
incomparable "bloomin' onions", tasty cheese coated French fries
and other house favorites. Add unlimited beer and wine and a
friendly setting and this BAH was over-the-top on all counts!.
With
well over a hundred members and
guests in attendance it was everything a BAH should be.
